Aurora Fire Station from MetlSpan

Metl-Span Wall Panels Selected For New Fire Station
By: Larry McLane

Feb. 25, 2009 - PRLog -- Approximately 4,700 sq. ft. of Metl-Span CF Architectural insulated wall panels were utilized on the new City of Aurora, IL Fire Station 8. The 2” thick, 24” wide Metl-Span panels were finished in Sandstone.

Installation of the wall panels was done by All American Exterior Solutions, Lake Zurich, IL. “It’s a beautiful fire station,” said Mike Underwood, project manager. “We were provided very nice prefabricated, factory formed corners that really came out great. The angles were not all 90 degrees—some were 75 and some were 120. Beyond the normal challenge of aligning with the curtain wall system, the installation was really pretty straight-forward.”

The project was designed by PSA-Dewberry in Naperville, IL. The general contractor on the job was R.C. Wegmen Construction, Aurora, IL.

Metl-Span pioneered many of the developments of insulated metal panels and continues to make significant contributions to design innovations and technology that shape industry standards. For more information on the complete line of Metl-Span products, call 877-585-9969 or visit www.metl-span.com.
