Philadelphia Author Captures the Suspense of the Lex Street Massacre in a Newly Revised Book

Revised True Crime Novel Now Includes an Interview with the Killer Himself!
By: Antonne M. Jones

Feb. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA – On December 28, 2000, Philadelphia was rocked with the most brutal and violent mass murder in its 300 year history. But even more shocking than the murders was the motive behind them, covered in a newly revised book about the Lex Street Massacre by local author Antonne M. Jones.

Jones spent time investigating the entire case for his book including interviewing everyone from lawyers and judges to reporters and even the murders and exclusive “jailhouse snitches.” The result is a grizzly detail of the events and the suspense that led up to the ultimate conviction of the suspects.

“The book is a fascinating look inside the mind of the killer and the entire team that unlocked the case leading to conviction,” Jones said. “I was amazed with the whole massacre as I interviewed more people and worked to lay out the entire event in its raw color.”

Part of the book reflects on the minds of the killer that took seven lives that day. A dispute over a car gone bad, the West Philadelphia killing spree reflects the pressure and urban decay apparent in life in the projects.

Convicted killer Shihean Black reflects in the book that he in effect lost respect for life upon seeing death all around him in the projects – directly leading him to take the lives of the victims in the massacre.

“The raw fury inside of Black was intense,” Jones said. “His insight alone makes this book an exciting suspense thriller you won’t be able to put down.”

Philadelphia author Antonne M. Jones has written other similar true crime and fictionalized truth mob books such as The Family - A Philadelphia Mob Story followed by The Family II: Life After Death, La Familia (Spanish) and The Lex Street Massacre book and documentary which was submitted to The Sundance Film Festival in 2008.

The newly revised book is available from bookstores all around Philadelphia for $18.95. For a complementary copy of the book for editorial review, or to schedule an interview with author Antonne M. Jones, please call 215-900-9595 or visit his website at www.thelexstreetproject.com.
