Feb. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Over 300. Seven countries. More than 250. Not even 2 years. Milestones are being reached left and right around the world. In not even two few short years since the inaugural Certified Professional Organizer® (CPO®) was offered in April 2007, over 300 professionals have successfully passed the examination and demonstrated knowledge and verifiable experience necessary to set them apart.

“In fact, with over 250 computer-based testing sites around the world, becoming a CPO® is more accessible than ever,” says Audrey Lavine, CPO® and President of the through the Board of Certification for Professional Organizers(BCPO®), the self-governing, independent certifying body formed to recognize and raise industry standards, practices and ethics through independent certification. “And if, on the chance that interested individuals don’t find a testing site near them, a quick phone call or email to the testing company will arrange one for them.”

The, 2-hour CPO® exam can be scheduled at convenient testing sites throughout the United States, Canada and other countries. Since the inaugural examination in 2007, more than 300 CPO®s in the world represent the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Switzerland and Hong Kong.

“I took the exam at the test site at San Diego State University campus,” says Liz Corso Davis, CPO®, Custom Organizing Solutions in San Diego, California. “The facility and the staff there were terrific. There was more than enough time to complete the test. I loved the format.”

Anyone who meets the specific minimum criteria, and proves through examination and client interaction that they possess the body of knowledge and experience required for certification, can earn the designation. For example, management and life coaches, those who work with individuals with ADD/ADHD, senior move managers, records managers and other related specialists may qualify.
