Save an Orthodox Jewish Family in Your Neighborhood.

Jan. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- - There are an estimated 380,000 Orthodox Jews living in Brooklyn, NY today and out of that 380 thousand, thirty percent of them are struggling to feed their families.  The Jewish community stands at the poorest in the city.  Food pantries in Brooklyn are racing to help these families in their time of need but are struggling to meet the demands of the community. The number of families that are living in poverty are growing at an unbearable rate.  Over 156,000 Orthodox Jews living in Brooklyn, New York are unable to provide for their families during Oneg Shabbat.
   Our U.S. economy is sailing through very rough tides right now and many families are feeling the hits from these misfortunate events. Food Pantries are needed now more than ever before and with recent issues, many of them have had to close their doors and turn hungry families away in the cold. The Food Pantries that are still operational are being overwhelmed by the amount of Orthodox Jewish families trying to keep their families from starving.
   Charities like the Oneg Shabbos are struggling to meet the needs of their people and are asking the community for help.  Oneg Shabbos is a privately funded Food Pantry that delivers meals to over one thousands struggling Orthodox Jewish families all over Brooklyn. Oneg Shabbos delivers eggs, meat, bread, and many other items to families in these desperate times. Thankfully people are stepping up to help Oneg Shabbos by donating money and food for the needy. One of their largest contributors are none other than humanitarian David H. Brooks. David H. Brooks has donated thousands of dollars to help these Jewish families in their time of despair.
   David H. Brooks has also started his own foundation called the David H. Brooks Foundation for America’s Wounded Soldiers. This foundation assists wounded soldiers by providing health care, food, shelter, and physical therapy. David H. Brooks has been saving lives all over the world with his enormous contributions to the Department of Defense and his millions of dollars that has donated to various charities all over the world.
