By: Cobb County CVB "This is another great distinction for Six Flags White Water," said Park president Melinda Ashcraft. "Metro Atlanta residents should be proud that they have the nation's 'best private waterpark' in their own backyard." Six Flags White Water is also the Southeast's largest waterpark with more than 20 rides and 40 slides, and it will celebrate it's 25th anniversary season in 2009. In 2008, the park voluntarily committed to reducing its water usage by 10 percent because of the severe drought affecting North Georgia. Through retrofitting and the installation of well water, the park met its goal and laid the foundation for long-term water conservation. In addition, Six Flags White Water partnered with numerous philanthropic organizations in 2008 including Special Olympics Georgia, Give Kids the World, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the World Children's Center. Six Flags White Water was also recently named an "Extreme Waterpark" by the Travel Channel. The park will open for its 25th anniversary season on May 23, 2009. Season passes are available for only $49.99 and can be purchased at www.sixflags.com/ # # # The very best of Atlanta is right here in Cobb County!
