PRLog -- Raymond Wexler is the chief tax officer of the General Motors Corporation. In this capacity, he is responsible for management of GM’s worldwide direct and indirect taxes. Raymond joined GM in 2006, following a distinguished career in private practice with Kirkland & Ellis, where he specialized in tax counseling and litigation for U.S. and foreign multinational corporations. Raymond has extensive experience in international tax matters and in representing clients before the IRS Appeals Office, District Counsel and the United States Tax Court. He is internationally recognized for his proficiency in corporate tax law and cross border transfer pricing, foreign tax credit utilization, and the double tax provisions of international tax treaties. Raymond was the lead trial counsel in two landmark cases; General Motors Corporation vs. Commissioner, and Keystone Consolidated Industries, Inc. vs. Commissioner. Additionally, Raymond is the director of the International Tax Forum, a member of the Tax Advisory Group for the American Law Institute Project Regarding International Aspects of United States Income Taxation and is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences regarding international taxation and tax litigation. He served in the United States Navy as a lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps and then earned an LLM in taxation from the prestigious New York University School of Law. Raymond earned his BA and JD degrees from Washington University.
