Dr. John C. McCartney has been named an honored member in education by Princeton Premier.

Dr. John C. McCartney, professor in the Department of Government and Law and chair of the Africana Studies Program at Lafayette College, has been chosen for inclusion in the 2008-2009 Princeton Premier Registry.
 
Nov. 6, 2008 - PRLog -- Dr. John C. McCartney is a professor in the Department of Government and Law and chair of the Africana Studies Program at Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania.  In these capacities, Dr. McCartney is depended on to supervise curriculum and analyze course offerings, provide student advisement and instruct students on law, government philosophy and Latin American, Caribbean and African politics. Dr. McCartney is a well known speaker, author and expert who has been a major influence in both education and politics for more than two decades.  He is the recipient of the Jones Lecture Award as well as the Marquis Distinguished Teaching Award and has been featured in dozens of articles and publications.  He is the author of the work, Black Power Idealogies: An Essay in African-American Political Thought, Temple University Press, 1992.  Dr. McCartney holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, is an esteemed member of the ASALHV and the ATSA, is chairperson of the Vanguard Party of the Bahamas and sits on various university committees.  He is equally active within his home community and supports several organizations that benefit education and promote public awareness.  Dr. McCartney performs volunteer duties for hospitals, community houses and prisons and lectures at several community colleges.  He is an avid reader of the Journal of African History and hopes to do some writing about his experiences to encourage others to assume a more philanthropic lifestyle.  When Dr. McCartney is not teaching undergraduate students, lecturing, writing, volunteering or serving politically, he enjoys reading, spending time with family and travel.  

In recognition of an exceptional career as professor in the Department of Government and Law and chair of the Africana Studies Program at Lafayette College, Dr. John C.
