Ardross House - Bed and Breakfast in Waipara, New Zealand

Nov. 2, 2008 - PRLog -- We are your hosts Kathryn and Michael Ward. Our house is located 3 km north of Amberley, an easy 40 minutes from Christchurch City and the Christchurch International airport. Ardross House sits on 12 acres of farmland and was part of a much larger property when first built in the 1870's.

The house itself is an icon of North Canterbury and part is reputed to be the first poured concrete building in New Zealand. We are in a rural setting with wonderful views across open farmland to Mount Grey and the foothills of the Southern Alps.

For the wine lover, we are on the cusp of the Waipara wine region, renowned for its Sav Blancs and Pinot Noir with up to 30 vineyards in the near vicinity. Access to the hot springs at Hanmer Springs Thermal area and the whale watching at Kaikoura are an hour away and the Alpine Triangle tourist area enclosed by these has wonderful fishing, vineyards, restaurants and cafes.

For the more adventurous there are horse treks, cycle tours, fishing charters and walking tracks. If all this is too much just relax with us and enjoy a quiet break.  

All tarriffs include breakfast and although there are cafes in the Amberley township, dinner can be supplied by prior arrangement.
