N. C. Universities Leverage Expertise from Rockett Interactive

Owner of one of the area's top-ranking interactive media agencies shared real-life lessons with students at two area universities last week, continuing his efforts to support education and industry growth in the Triangle.

Oct. 28, 2008 - PRLog -- CARY, NC. – Last Friday, Appalachian State University in Boone, NC invited successful business leaders, including alumnus Mark Rockett, owner of Cary-based Rockett Interactive, to share their insights at its 7th annual Carole Moore McLeod Entrepreneur Summit. This Summit, one of the largest held at ASU to date, provides an opportunity for students, professors and staff to hear from area experts like Mark Rockett, who spoke about the rapid growth of online advertising, social media and its strong future given the increased integration of the internet in daily life. Key recommendations for all students were to begin to establish a “professional” web presence in advance of graduation, as the people, friends and professors in your network today will go with you into the future.  

The Entrepreneur Summit was Mark Rockett’s second recent contribution to area students: earlier in the week Rockett was a guest lecturer at a senior Advertising Campaign class at UNC-Chapel Hill, offering students a practical overview of the Interactive Media business, including trends in online media, an overview of Interactive tools, and insight into a critical area for online marketers, namely the advanced options available today for campaign measurement: “What’s outstanding about online marketing, when it’s done correctly, is that you can manage your spending so efficiently” said Rockett. “CTR (click-through-rate) and CPC (cost per click), are just the beginning; if you plan for it appropriately, you can measure ROI through post-click tracking. And it’s also possible to measure other factors including purchase intent, brand awareness or favorability, plus creative favorability and memorability, all of which help you continue to improve your campaigns’ cost-effectiveness over time.”
