Jefferson has been with NDINM since 2007 and is responsible for developing curriculum, coordinating with choreographers, scheduling concerts and teaching ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop dance classes to students that range in ability from school aged beginners to advanced level adult professionals. Jefferson is a master teacher of classical ballet and is an internationally known icon who has taught at Escole de Danza, Recife, Brazil and Le Grande de Danse, Toulon, France. He began his career in ballet as a young man in his mother’s dance school, where the former Chicago Ballet star provided exemplary training in the art. Jefferson’s celebrity as a dancer brought him to the most esteemed dance schools in the world where he instructed the finest dancers of Russia, Portugal, Monaco and Asia. Now at home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jefferson uses his expertise to shape the future of the academy, its students and the community.
