PRLog -- Peter Gerhardsson is the vice president of international business development for DexCom, a San Diego based company that is focused on pioneering technologies for the continuous monitoring of glucose in people with diabetes. DexCom has developed a short term continuous glucose monitoring system, the Seven™ System, which includes the Seven Sensor, the Seven Transmitter, and the Seven Receiver. Peter joined DexCom in September 2008 to lead development efforts within the international market. Peter has more than three decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical technology business sectors as well as diabetes therapies. Prior to joining DexCom, he held various senior level sales and marketing roles within Novo Nordisk and led its Far East business, increasing its presence in China, India, South Korea and the Asia. Peter was also the managing director of MiniMed and later was responsible for all European diabetes business units with Medtronic. In 2005, he rejoined Novo Nordisk as vice president of corporate responsibility, directing socio economics, stakeholder relations and social responsibility programs. Peter has a Bachelor of Science degree from Lund University Sweden and completed his graduate studies in pharmacology at Linkoping University, Sweden. He holds a diploma in marketing and economics from the executive foundation of Lund University, Sweden and an MBA from Stanford University. At home in Lund, Sweden, Peter enjoys hunting, horseback riding and reading.
