PRLog -- Dr. Li Wu is a laboratory head of the immunology division of the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research, one of the world's leading medical research centers whose expertise encompasses cancer, genetics, malaria, autoimmune diseases, medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. Dr. Wu has been with the institute for more than two decades and is a leading authority on research of development and functional diversities of mouse and human dendritic cell populations, transcriptional regulation of dendtitic cell and early T-lymphocyte development, molecular regulation of heamatopoietic cell lineage commitment and differentiation from the multipotent heamatopoietic stem cells and the role of thymic dendritic cells in the induction of central immune tolerance. In her current role, she is depended on to design research projects and supervise both students and postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Wu has published more than a hundred research articles in journals on immunology and holds a Ph.D. in immunology from the University of Melbourne. Dr. Wu is a member of the ASI and has been an invited guest speaker for numerous conferences. Away from the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research, Dr. Wu is an avid reader of literature and science journals and enjoys music. In her spare time, Dr. Wu maintains an active profile in community service and donates generously to charities that benefit scientific research.
