| Native American Keyboardist Lisa LaRue Nominated for 2008 Hollywood Music AwardIndie artist Lisa LaRue nominated for Hollywood award; announced upcoming release of new CD, "Transformation 2012"
Five days prior to the event, LaRue will be releasing her much anticipated CD entitled, “Transformation 2012.” The disc is themed around the Mayan prophecy of the transition into a new world age on December 21, 2012. “Many people speak of the prophecy as ‘doom and gloom’ the end of the world. But the Mayan elders teach it is a time for transformation. A time for things to change for the better,” said LaRue. The CD includes guest appearances from up and coming artists such as electric violinist James Sudakow and Kerri Lake, as well as seasoned veterans such as Tommy Zvoncheck (former Blue Oyster Cult keyboardist) “No other voice could have conveyed the feelings of this song than John Payne,” LaRue said. “The song is about going through all of the tribulations we see our world entering everyday on the news, but with the help of a good friend, a significant other, or even a trusted pet, we can get through it all just fine.” LaRue is an enrolled member of the federally-recognized United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma, and is the 2008 Oklahoma Music Awards’ ‘Native American Artist of the Year.’ She has recently been included on a compilation CD for “Music for Troops,” which was sent to troops in Iraq, as well as the Progressive Rock Hall of Fame CD, “Soundscapes.” The Hollywood Music Awards (HMA) is the only red carpet style event in the world that celebrates music in visual mediums. Honoring a variety of music styles, from traditional to experimental, the awards show will give equal attention to both signed and unsigned music artists for their music recordings. This event will feature indie artists as well as major label notables. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live, through the internet. Lisa LaRue is a resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
