NH DOE to Provide Assessment Builder Software to All NH Districts

Agreement expands partnership with Performance Pathways, gives all NH districts the ability to build and track local benchmark assessments using Assessment Builder and Performance Tracker.

Aug. 11, 2008 - PRLog -- In an effort to provide educators with tools they need to increase student achievement and improve performance, the New Hampshire Department of Education will provide Performance Pathways’ Assessment Builder software to all New Hampshire School Districts. Like all Performance Pathways software, Assessment Builder is completely Web-based and requires no special installation. Users log on to their account using their Web browser.

“One of our goals at the Department of Education is to provide New Hampshire districts with proper and effective tools to help students achieve their maximum potential. This agreement helps us do just that,” said Lyonel Tracy, Commissioner, New Hampshire Department of Education.

The software gives educators the ability to easily build and score local benchmark assessments. Users can create the assessments using their own content or build them from a bank of questions available in Performance Pathways’ Content Library.

This agreement expands the partnership between the NH DOE and Performance Pathways announced last year when the state provided Performance Tracker to all New Hampshire districts. Assessment Builder does more than help build tests. When used in conjunction with Performance Tracker, Assessment Builder also gives educators the ability to track assessment data from locally created benchmark assessments and standardized tests.

“We are very happy with the results we’ve seen during the past year while using Performance Tracker. Adding Assessment Builder gives our districts another useful tool to help improve student performance,” Tracy said.

“Using Assessment Builder and Performance Tracker together districts are able not only to build local assessments but to track local and state data together. This provides a more complete view of student achievement,” said Jeff Colosimo, President and CEO of Performance Pathways. “With this information educators can effectively target problem areas and enhance instruction to improve student performance.”

The Local Education Support Center Network (LESCN or PD Centers) will be hosting hands-on workshops for Assessment Builder during the weeks of September 22nd and 29th at no cost to districts. The trainings will be conducted by Performance Pathways and will be approximately six hours in length.
