Aug. 1, 2008 - PRLog -- Norwich, CT -- Mystic Management Systems, a leading provider of web based product and quality management systems for twenty-five years, has been chosen by Southern Illinois Power Cooperative to provide document control through the product ensur.  (http://www.mysticmsi.com)

North American electric companies have many different standards and regulations to meet.  One of those standards is the NERC (http://www.nerc.com) reliability standards.  They require power companies to provide documentation, procedures, and training around such areas as Emergency Preparedness, Resource and Demand Balancing, and Personnel Performance.  Many power companies have different manual and software tools that can help meet NERC compliance.  The power of a web-based document management system like ensur, is the creation of a single repository with global access that can help an electric company meet a majority of NERC standards with one purchase.  The expansion of Mystic Management Systems’ electronic document control/management software system ensur into this new marketplace demonstrates the power, the versatility and user friendly nature of the ensur program.

About Southern Illinois Power Cooperative

Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC), located at the Lake of Egypt, just south of Marion, Illinois is a wholesale power supplier. In 1963, Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC) began producing electricity for three distribution cooperative members at its Marion plant. At that time, SIPC's plant capacity was 99 megawatts (MW) which far exceeded member requirements. The plant consisted of three 33 MW turbines, each powered by a cyclone boiler.

The SIPC Board of Directors is composed of four representatives from each of the six members. SIPC built Lake of Egypt as a source of cooling water but offers the lake for public recreation and residential development. SIPC belongs to the Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO). MISO monitors power flowing throughout much of the Midwest.
