Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions Creates Advisory Board to Discuss Home Emergency Preparedness in NY

June 10, 2008 - PRLog -- Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions convened it's first advisory board meeting to discuss the state of home emergency preparedness efforts in local communities on Long Island, NY.  Ongoing, the Advisory Board will serve as a formal committee of experts to advise the product development initiatives of the Ice-Qube, In Case of Emergency, product line, a comprehensive collection of rescue, survival, first aid, hygiene and comfort products to get individuals and families through any emergency.

The Ice-Qube advisory board brings together the expertise of leaders in the fields of Emergency Management, Fire Safety, Police, Transportation and family psychology.  In attendance at the April 3rd meeting were Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions President, Leslie Fastenberg; Richard Rotanz, Special Assistant to the President & Provost, Emergency Management Program, Adelphi University; Dan Duggan, Chief of Police; Old Westbury Police Department; Lauren Nichols, Vice President of E&F Trucking & Warehouse of Bethpage; Patricia Loeb, Ph.D. and Moria Phillips, Owner of Papermill 7 in Sea Cliff.  The Advisory Board will meet 3 times a year to support the efforts of Ice-Qube Emergency Preparedness Solutions.

It is reported that only 5% of people on Long Island identify themselves as prepared for an emergency.  There is a potential burden on the emergency management system on Long Island which is worrisome and why we need to communicate the urgency to others to be prepared.
