May 7, 2008 - PRLog -- DOVER, NJ – Five Morris County soccer lovers are on a mission to change the image of U.S. soccer forever.  Don’t miss the XTremBol Dayz StreetSoccer Fest, June 21 – 22 from the brand new $3.7 million Morris County Regional Recreation Complex. It will be an unprecedented 2-day extravaganza of streetsoccer, music and culture.

Throughout Europe and Latin America soccer is played on the streets.  With little or no adult supervision, children play pick-up soccer each and every day.  Kids who grow up playing streetsoccer develop a certain elasticity, but most of all, they develop a certain “culture” around the game that transforms into an indelible passion.

For Andres Torres, Eric Yamoza, Miller Espinosa, Hernando Risueño and Javier Gonzalez – the founders of XTremBol –soccer in the states lacks that certain “culture.”  XTremBol is a combination of rapid streetsoccer, extreme sports, and music.  XTremBol Dayz will feature caged-4v4-streetsoccer, local/regional artists, and local/regional DJs. The entire event will be video-taped and fed via www.XTremBol.com, a growing online community dedicated to promoting streetsoccer, music and culture.

The Dutch pioneers of streetsoccer, MotG (Masters of the Game) will be competing at XTremBol Dayz.  Throughout the world MotG encourages young people to play soccer in the streets. MotG is engaged in promoting the game of streetsoccer at its highest level as well as being an authority on the game.

Fans will be treated to the beats and rhythms of several well-known local/regional DJs specializing in various genres, and live musical performances by artist such as “El SuperTiguere,” “La Union Del Barrio,” “Second2None,” and Armando “Son” Jimenez, representing everything from reggaeton, to salsa, to hip-hop.

On a chilly March afternoon XTremBol received a call from a high school student in Morristown, NJ who had heard about XTremBol.  The young man and his friends were gathering to play streetsoccer on an abandoned tennis court.  With video-camera in hand the XTremBol staff showed up and experienced the future of soccer in the U.S – 20 to 30 neighborhood kids playing streetsoccer until sun-down, in 30 degree weather. No coaches, no referees, no soccer-moms, no soccer-dads, no leagues, no schedules, no minivans, no turf, no fancy fields, no plastic trophies, no orange peels; just good-old-fashioned streetsoccer.

There would be more videos in Dover, Morristown, Rockaway and Mount Olive, NJ.  Promoting a play-anywhere-anytime environment is the best way to embed a certain “culture” and passion into the game.  But it must start and end with the kids; they are the future of the sport.  It’s about offering kids alternatives through activities they enjoy.  XTremBol Dayz StreetSoccer Fest is a great start.  DON’T MISS IT!
