INSOMNIA is a condition in which patient suffers from sleeplessness, annoyance and depression.When it becomes a habit it may pose a serious menace to health.

CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS

INSOMNIA may be due to a variety of causes like Tension,Depression and Stress.In temporary casesof sleeplessness the affected person suffers from disturbed nights now and then, the cause is usually to be sought in some external source of irritation slight degree of pain ,uncomfortable surroundingssuch as insufficient covering in winter or a hot night without a fan ,an overfull stomach causing discomfort , or a nagging worry may prevent the brain from attaining the degree of relaxation which is a prerequisite of sleep.Fever infection or nervous weakness may also cause loss of sleep.


PARALYSIS

Paralysis are of different types partial,total,paralysis in grown ups and children.Paralysis or palsy means loss of muscular power due to some problem in the Nervous System.Various technical names are given to various forms of the disease.Hemiplegia is applied to paralysis affecting one part of the face along with the corresponding arm and leg.Diplegia means total paralysis.Monoplegia is the paralysis of single limb.Paraplegia means paralysis of both sides.In Ayurveda Paralysis is mainly due to imbalance of VATTA.


CRAMPS (KHALANI)

Cramps are painful spasmodic contractions of the muscles, occurring mainly in the limbs, but also apt to effect certain internal organs also.

CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS

The cause of cramps resides in the nervous system and troubles come on suddenly during sleep, when one finds ones leg or arm muscles cramped resulting in acute pain.

The trouble can be temporary or permanent. The symptoms are in the first instance gradually increasing. In ayurveda cramps are due to imbalance of vatta. So treatment balancing vatta should be given to the patient.
