Anti Corruption Movement: Join the Movement

Join the Movement to stop the prevailing level of corruption in our government. United we can make a difference in the way our government is run.

Dec. 13, 2007 - PRLog -- Hi Everyone,
I’ve started the Anti Corruption Movement because of the prevailing level of corruption and government fraud. For years Washington politicians have abused the tax-payers trust and money. From sex scandals to kickbacks Washington has become engulfed in political calamities.
When I first contemplated starting a blog addressing corruption I didn’t believe an online movement of citizens could make a difference. It seemed that the political establishment was too distant and entrenched in its corrupt ways for significant steps of change. However after reading a short while, I realized the power we have over the political system. In 2005 at the height of Republican corruption, “Congress voted to change its rules to allow Majority Leader Tom Delay to keep his office if he ends up facing criminal charges in his home state of Texas.” Two blogs, TMP and The Daily Delay, both pressured the ethics committee congressmen and questioned them on their vote.  The following week the bill was reversed and Delay was eventually removed from his position as Majority Leader. The internet unlike the newspaper or the television truly empowers citizens because the flow information and the public forum are controlled by us. Although I am merely one person I believe that through an online movement of unified concerned citizens we can truly stop and monitor the political corruption that is ruining our democracy. Through pressure and close monitoring we can target corrupt politicians and usher legislation for a transparent government, which is truly of the people.
I promise to run the movement democratically. The appropriations of donations can be monitored by any member and all goals we set will be reached by voting on the issue. Any member can suggest an idea for an issue and at the end of the week we’ll vote on the issue we should tackle. At the end of every year we’ll have an election for position as editor of the blog. Any member will be allowed to vote or run as editor.  I hope everyone participates in our movement towards a government truly of the people.
