| Oshawa Turul SC Elects New President And Positions Itself As An Elite ClubThe Oshawa Turul S.C. has flourished over the years because of the contribution of many great people, players, coaches and administrators. The club remains a vibrant and integral part of our community.
New Club president Roger Mittag has a distinguished resume of involvement in community soccer. He has been actively involved in coaching representative soccer holding various positions assistant coach,manager and head coach for the past 14 years. He has been actively working with the Oshawa Turul S.C. executive committee since 2005. Roger was elected to serve a 2 year term by the membership and is eagerly ready to commit himself to the new challenge. "I am truly honoured to become the President of the Oshawa Turul Soccer Club. We have so many dedicated coaches, managers and volunteers that are making a difference in the lives of our players.”, said Roger. "2008 will be a phenomenal year for the Turul. I’m excited about leading the club into a time when we can realize our goals of becoming Oshawa’s elite soccer club”. The Club adopted a new mission statement to serve as a guide and mandate for the incoming executive team: The Oshawa Turul Soccer Club will provide a dynamic environment where our players, coaches and managers will achieve excellence through dedication, hard work and fun. Our goals are to create elite competitive soccer teams while helping our players to become outstanding ambassadors of the game, of Oshawa Turul and the City of Oshawa. Our coaches, dedicated volunteers, have committed themselves to create an atmosphere of learning and challenging goals with the end target of developing our youth players into fine young adults, both on and off the field of play. After a successful 2 year reign, Mike Davidson, decided to step down as President of Oshawa Turul S.C. Under his reign, the club expanded to 18 teams, held its first annual Club tryout, established a professional website, commenced an annual Club banquet, participated in Fiesta Week and successfully gained an anchor sponsor Oshawa Italian Recreation Club. The Club is reminding the community that interested volunteers, players, coaches and teams can contact Oshawa Turul executives and coaches throughout the year to get involved. Oshawa Turul S.C. is represented by eighteen boys and girls teams ranging from 8 yrs old to senior. The club is celebrating its 35th year of existence.
