| Richport Properties Opens Brookline: First EasyLiving Home Community in Newton CountyLocated in Newton County, Richport Properties is pleased to announce the opening of Brookline - the first EasyLiving Home community in the county. To celebrate the opening of the community, a ribbon cutting was held on Nov. 1.
Richport’s Brookline community, located just minutes from downtown Covington, is the first community in Newton County committed to the construction of EasyLiving Homecm plans throughout. The first four homes in the community recently passed the certification inspection. Located along the Covington Bypass, Brookline is a traditional community that will offer a total of 94 alley and golf frontage homes upon completion. The single-family homes will be priced from the $170,000s. At a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Nov. 1 at the new Brookline subdivision, Covington Mayor Sam Ramsey, Newton County Chairman Aaron Varner and representatives of the Covington-Newton Chamber of Commerce and the Newton County Home Builders Association joined Richport representatives and Bonnie Bonham, Director of EasyLiving Homecm, to celebrate the continued expansion of the EasyLiving Homecm program and the Grand Opening of Brookline. Mayor Ramsey said, “We are pleased that Richport Properties has chosen to be a part of our Covington Community and wish them future success.” Bonham added, “We are pleased that Richport has chosen to embrace the construction techniques of EasyLiving Homecm. These simple features will benefit everyone who lives in or visits these homes – and they set this new community apart.” "More and more builders are seeking information about EasyLiving Homecm,” said Ed Phillips, executive vice president, Georgia Home Builders Association. “Because it is a voluntary way to set standards easily recognizable by a growing market, it's a win-win for both builders and homebuyers.” Ever tripped on an entry threshold? Ever banged a shoulder on a doorway? Features of an EasyLiving Homecm make these nuisances a thing of the past. The step-free entrance makes it easy and safe to bring in a baby stroller, move heavy items, carry in packages, and enter easily in a wheelchair or walker; wider doors and hallways allow for easy passage and furniture movement; while a main-floor bedroom and bathroom ensure convenience and add potential resale value. Brookline offers a total of six ranch and two story plans, three of which will offer rear-entry garages, and the other three front-entry. The cottage-style homes will range from 1,500 to 2,300 square feet, and 31 of the homes will be located along the fairways of the Indian Creek Golf Club. Phase I of the community will include 64 homes, 15 of which will offer views of the Indian Creek Golf Club fairways and, as with all homes along the fairways, include a one year membership to the course. Homeowners will enjoy the array of features the plans include such as solid surface countertops, master on main plans, wide doorways, easy entry exterior doors and three to four bedroom floor plans. In addition, homeowners may relax on their large front porches in the evenings and chat with neighbors as they take a stroll through the neighborhood. All homes also include gas lanterns, routine lawn care, waste service, exterior maintenance of homes and plenty of upgrade options. Other community amenities include Covington Family YMCA memberships, landscaped pocket parks and sidewalks throughout. In addition to the close proximity to downtown Covington and Indian Creek Golf Club, homeowners may also enjoy easy access to Interstate 20. Making it easy and painless for homeowners to access the Internet, there will be bulk-rate broadband service and 24/7 computer/networking support available in the community. To visit Brookline, travel East on I-20 to exit 93. Take a right off the exit and go approximately three miles. Pass over the railroad tracks, and the community will be on the left.
