| Panther Platform Rentals go back in time to Salford HallPanther Platform Rentals found themselves visiting the fifteenth century when cleaning and maintenance tasks were due at Salford Hall in Worcestershire.
By: Lindsay Hall/Panther Platform Rentals Ltd Before the work commenced a site survey identified that the only machine able to complete the job was the Eagle 44, manufactured by Oil and Steel. The job involved inspecting the buildings for any fallen tiles and general cleaning and maintenance tasks on the outside of the buildings and conservatory, plus the atria which were especially difficult to reach. The outreach and capacity of the Eagle made the machine perfect for this type of job. The immense 44 metres of maximum working height combined with 30m of outreach meant that the atria of the buildings could be accessed without having to move the base unit, keeping disruption to a minimum. In addition the machine features a vast working area with 240v power sockets and 150psi cleaning lance outlets. The 400kg rated platform can comfortably hold three operatives and their equipment simultaneously so multiple tasks can be completed in a shorter timescale. “The areas we needed to work on included an internal atrium, only accessible by going up and over the building. The Eagle 44 has a 17m fly jib which enabled the machine to reach back down the other side of the building. It also has a built in pressure water container enabling the client to use a pressure washer without trailing water hoses over the delicate roof” said Mandy Mc Clements-John, Vehicle Mount and Specialist Equipment Manager for Panther Platform Rentals.
