Retirement Community Danced the Night Away at Prom

MOBERLY, Mo. - July 2, 2015 - PRLog -- This week, Meadow Ridge Estates, an Independent Living and Assisted Living Retirement Community in Moberly, MO, hosted its Inaugural Meadow Ridge Estates Prom.

This event took place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 in the main dining room at Meadow Ridge Estates. Dinner was served followed by lively music, where residents and friends remembered what it felt like to be young and dressed up again. The room was decorated to fit the theme “A Starry Night”.

The popular band, Joshua 24:15, was the entertainment for the night where they played lively resident favorites.  Toes tapped to classic tunes such as Crazy, Ring of Fire, Always on my Mind, and Love Potion Number Nine.  Residents and guests enjoyed watching Robert Leavene dance with his Great Niece Gina Mulnix of Edward Jones in Moberly.  Residents elected Mr. Leavene and Virginia McGuire to be their Prom King and Queen.

“This may be our first prom, but it most certainly will not be our last” stated Executive Director Oneva McClendon.  “The residents will talk about this for months.”

The Meadow Ridge Estates community enjoyed their time and look forward to the Second Annual Prom next year.
