By: Loudoun Breast Health Network The New Beginnings Retreat is a free event to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Loudoun County with expert speakers, support information, resources and free giveaways. The retreat will be held at the Village at Leesburg, Community Meeting Room from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The retreat is a two-part event, beginning with an educational session, “Latest Advances in Breast Cancer Treatment.” The afternoon session beginning at noon will be an open house including breast cancer support and community resource information. Free wigs, bras, scarves and hats will be given away, along with many door prizes. Breast cancer survivors in the Loudoun County area will be able to get makeup kits, makeovers and bra fittings at the event, as well as free massages, yoga demos and healing touch sessions. About Loudoun Breast Health Network: The Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN) provides assistance to Loudoun County, Virginia residents diagnosed with breast cancer and their families through outreach and support. LBHN’s Pink Assistance Fund (PAF) provides financial help to Loudoun County residents affected by breast cancer, by helping with payment of medical bills, mortgages, transportation costs, groceries and utility bills. The New Beginnings Program provides physical and emotional support to patients currently undergoing breast cancer treatment, as well as free wigs, mastectomy bras, prostheses and more. LBHN’s programs are fully funded by donations from local groups, businesses, schools, individuals, events, fundraisers and nonprofit grants.
