DO

1. Organise a joint hen and stag if your reasons are for fun and not fear.  If you want a big group of friends to share activities together then great, but if you are doing it to keep an eye on your wayward partner, then forget it!

2. Make sure that you choose activities and hotels that appeal to both the men and women in your group and consult both groups on what they want to do. 3. Use your big group numbers to negotiate some equally big discounts at activity centres, restaurants and hotels.  You might find that a joint hen and stag weekend will actually work out cheaper than if you do it separately.

4. Organise some activities that pitch men versus women to bring out the fun competitive side of your party. Check out the inflatables that offer jousting tournaments, bungee runs & sumo wrestling!

5. Choose from some of the following activities that appeal to both hens and stags: Surfing, Quad biking, Honda Pilots, Off-Road Rally Go karts, Archery, Shooting, Rally Driving, Paintballing, 4 x 4 off-roading or inflatable fun.

DON’T

1. Exclude people that don’t have partners from the event. Try and even up numbers wherever possible but that said, don’t encourage people to get together on the weekend, otherwise that might get awkward at your wedding.

2. Spend time with your partner when you could be enjoying your friends’ company. You have the honeymoon to gaze into each other’s eyes, so use this time to have a laugh with mates.

3. Leave the organising to chance – few restaurants will be able to cater for large groups without pre-booking and sometimes pre-ordering so make sure you plan ahead.

4. Take criticism to heart. You are bound to come under fire from people who want you to have your traditional ‘last night of freedom’ in a single sex party, but stick to your guns and take any negativity on the chin.

5. Opt for something better suited to hens or stags such as spa treatments or strip clubs.
