Oct. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- (Kansas City, Missouri)  September 2009 – ScooterCrew announces the inauguration of a new Designated Driver Service in the Kansas City area.  The unique service was conceived by a local Kansas City businessman and his partners after utilizing a similar service in London, England.  

After a few drinks at happy hour, a fine scotch at dinner or an all-out brouhaha with your buddies, everyone knows they shouldn’t get behind the wheel to make the trek home.  But who wants to leave their car in a parking lot overnight, find a ride to their car in the morning or (gasp!) pay for a cab to take them back to their vehicle the next day?   When utilizing this type of service, company drivers will meet customers at their vehicle or dining/drinking establishment, place their collapsible scooter in the trunk, and safely drive the customer home in their own vehicle.

It is a very convenient way to get home safely without risk of arrest or serious injury.  There’s no need to single out a designated driver for the night or worry about how you’re going get to work the next morning after having one too many Stoli Doli martinis at The Capitol Grille.

This type of service is not only useful for voluntarily impaired individuals, but also for people who simply need a ride home from a doctor’s visit or an outpatient procedure.  Often people don’t have family or friends who are available to pick them up during work hours or anytime at all, and utilizing this service gives them one less thing to worry about after an already stressful occasion.  “When I had to have outpatient surgery on my knee, my husband had to take off of work to be available to take me home.  Unfortunately, this cost him a day of pay.  I can’t tell you how convenient and money-saving it would have been to be able to contact a service like ScooterCrew,” commented a new client after speaking with Jeff Seabaugh, Managing Partner of ScooterCrew.

How is this transportation service also doing its part to conserve its footprint?  The scooters have a minimal environmental impact and travel 70 miles on one gallon of gas.  With obvious safety and liability concerns, ScooterCrew employees have verified clear driving records and have undergone thorough background checks.  “We only hire people that my Mother would feel comfortable handing her keys to.”  commented Seabaugh.
