Thrill the World is the largest simultaneous, world-wide performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance. People gather in the thousands to recreate the video, complete with zombie attire.
“I chose to be involved with Thrill The World because I have always enjoyed performing and this is something that benefits a great cause,” says Briana Beyerl, the event manager.
The Broward event benefits the Dizzy Feet Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity that allows students to participate in performance arts including dance. It was created by Nigel Lythgoe, director Adam Shankman, Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actress Katie Holmes.
Beyerl believes so strongly in the event, she recruited her sister, Marisa Cutaia to help coordinate.
“We want the event to be a fun time, and it will be, with costume contests and raffles for great prizes,” says Marisa Cutaia, event coordinator. “We are also acknowledging that students like my sister and I, in a different financial state, can not experience the joy of being on stage.”
Thrill the World is October 24, at 8:30 p.m. sharp, with registration starting at 7 p.m. It will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel Paradise Shops, 1 Seminole Way, Hollywood. There is no cost to participate. Classes to learn the routine to come at http://bit.ly/
