Washington, DC. . . The Parkinson Research Foundation (PRF) launched its new web site www.parkinsonresearchfoundation.org on Monday, October 27, 2008, with a dynamic, new look. PRF's former web site has been redesigned to provide a site that provides online visitors with dramatic improvements in navigation, uniformity, appearance, and accessibility to provide users with the most comprehensive and useful compendium of information and tools for patients, professionals, caregivers and friends and families of individuals effected with Parkinson’s disease.
With eye-catching graphics, the new home page introduces visitors to the Parkinson Research Foundation. The online visitor has immediate access to the web site's major topic areas that allow browsing and searching through information about News, Treatments and experiments, Nutrition, Research, Exercise, Events, Resources and information for people affected with Parkinson’s disease. It also provides forums where people can pose questions to leading professionals and researches in the field. There is also a section where patients, caregivers and families can join online discussions pertaining to Parkinson’s disease.
Enhancements to the web site include:
• Improved Navigation - Web pages work in intuitive and consistent ways, making it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for and know where they are within the web site.
• Improved Look and Feel - Enhanced graphics and the new page layouts provide visitors with an improved user experience.
• New Features - New features on the web site include Weekly journal blog, Join the discussion message board, news, nutrition, exercise, treatments, research, helping hands and events notices, a pop up window providing direct access to web pages, a site index, and an FAQ page.
While the appearance and high-level organization of the web site are enhanced, the information located on the original web site is available via the new website.
