With dour forecasts for the U.S. economy permeating the American psyche, millions of anxious workers are turning to recruitment agencies to assist them in securing reliable employment. There’s a disconnect, however, between the types of jobs recruiters fill and the level of experience of the applicants looking for help. Recruiters typically receive orders from companies to fill higher level positions, but it’s the lower and mid level workers most in need of help.
Career Network has devised a new recruitment strategy that serves both the employers and the job seekers. Traditionally, recruiters contact employers and offer to fill open positions for a fee. That is prohibitively expensive for mid to lower salary jobs, so companies rarely use that option for that level of employee; instead relying on their internal HR staff to fill those holes in their workforce.
To solve this issue, Career Network had to find a new revenue stream that would both support the operations of their business, as well as connect employers with qualified employees at no cost to either of them. This was accomplished by adding advertisements to their network of employment sites that offsets the company’s operating expenses.
Jobs are collected on job boards and newspaper ads, with permission from the companies, and then reposted on one of the company’s Web sites. Applicants apply for those jobs and those applications are passed along to the employer for consideration. Not only is this done at no charge, it stretches the employer’s recruitment dollar by doubling the reach of their ads. The active nature of the process also reaches more applicants than the initial, passive job posting. The entire process is beneficial to all of the parties involved.
