ProSidian Consulting Awarded HubZone Certification By The SBA

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - July 28, 2019 - PRLog -- The Small Business Administration has awarded ProSidian Consulting The HUBZone Program Certification.  As a HUBZone Company, we align with SBA Program Missions to promote job growth, capital investment, and economic development in commercial and industrial areas known as HUBZones or Opportunity Zones.  Created by the 1998 Congressional Empowerment Act, the Program targets distressed urban and rural communities with federal dollars. ProSidian became certified through acquisition of a facility in the Gastonia, NC Loray Mill Village.

The Loray Mill National Register Historic District (the largest of its kind) is located twenty miles from Charlotte.  "ProSidian is proud to help job creation in economically challenged areas," remarked Adrian Woolcock, Managing Principal. "We can provide Business Transformation to clients in strategic ways that also contribute to economic development," noted Dana Corsi, Chief Operations Officer.

History Of The Loray Mill Village: Loray Mill located in the NC Piedmont of Gaston County once had ideal resources for manufacturing.  Also known as Firestone Mill, Loray employed more 3,500 employees. Built 1902 as the largest single-roof textile mill in the South, and went on to become a part of history.  WWI brought prosperity to southern cotton mills, fueled largely by orders for war material (uniforms and tents).  However, the prosperity that the workers enjoyed soon disappeared.  The 1929 Textile Workers Union Strike laid siege to the town and resulted in the death of Gastonia Police Chief and a worker's rights champion.  The Loray Mill Strike was one of the most notable in US labor history, caused an immense controversy, and propelled the national labor movement.
