Rock/Pop Icon John Waite with his new release "BEST" and Pop Singer Martika return with a bang

PRLog - May 21, 2014 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- They say great voices never get old, they just get better. John Waite with his new cd “BEST” in hand, returns to the charts with a new album full of re-recorded music and what he calls his “BEST” work. But not to be out done, singer/songwriter Martika sounds better than ever.

"Let's face it, the great bands and singers from the 80's and 90's are back. But very few have the balls to touch or even update their chart topping hits. John did that by re-recording his #1 worldwide hit, Missing You. Yes, I said re-recorded, not remixed or remastered. Only the “BEST” would ever think about it and actually do it, said radio host Steve Benz. "And on Missing You – 2014, Waite killed it.”

“BEST is what I think is my best work over the past 35 years. Has it been that long?” laughed Waite. “Eighteen songs. I feel like I've had nine lives in rock music,” said rockstar John Waite. “It's hard to say which song best identifies with me and my song writing. Missing You was recorded while I was making up lyrics in the studio. The record company didn't want me to record it. Even if I had to pay for the studio time myself, I was going to record it. And I guess it turn out alright,” laughed Waite.

When I need to spice up “The Blend,” I can always count on Martika. She is one of the few women that continues to fill arenas. It's her voice, it's her performance....it's her. Her personality brings so much energy to her audience,” said Benz.

“I just love performing. It goes all the way back to Kid, Inc. It's where I met and worked with Mario Lopez, mentioned pop singer Martika. “Are we going to call Mario? You are so mean for teasing me like that, Steve,” laughed Martika. I've been so blessed to have the fans that I do. It was so much fun to perform in Chile this past year. I got to share the stage with Debbie Gibson, Samantha Fox and Rick Astley. They were so much fun to meet, and the audience love it,” said Martika. “ I can wait to get back on stage.”

“Its hard to believe we are both in the city and haven't gotten together for coffee,” joked Steve. “I know. You cant avoid me any longer, Steve,” laughed Martika.
