Cobb, one of 11 speakers chosen from a pool of countless nominations for the sold out event, will share her personal experiences and nonverbal communication techniques to help the audience explore a new idea of partnering with fear to launch their future.
The Future Regardless is the theme for TEDx Greensboro 2014, an independently organized event created in the spirit of TED’s mission of “ideas worth spreading.” TED, a platform, which began in 1984 as a conference where technology, entertainment and design converged, shares ideas from a broad spectrum — from science to business to global issues.
When asked about the idea of fear launching the future, Cobb stated that she wants to “… disrupt people’s ideas of fear. Fear is functional. Fear serves as a personal caution so we can protect ourselves from danger. It’s how we embrace fear that can make a positive impact in every aspect of our lives.”
Cobb, who recently shared the stage with several notable women including Jenna Bush Hager at the Junior League of Greensboro’s Women’s Leadership Summit, coaches and gives presentations to individuals and groups from interns to executives to help them navigate their personal and professional lives by teaching techniques which increase their ability to become better communicators, negotiators and effective leaders.
