Solaborate Introduces New Features to Enhance Real-Time Communication and Collaboration

Solaborate now enables users to have group audio or video calls, share files and pictures within the call, as well as share their screens in real time.

LOS ANGELESE, Calif. - July 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Solaborate is the first professional social networking and collaboration platform dedicated to technology professionals, companies and their products and services. On April 30th, 2013 Solaborate announced its private beta release, allowing the public to go on its platform and request beta invites.  Since then, Solaborate has been working hard to improve its already feature-packed site with some exciting and innovative features.

Audio Calls
Solaborate was already supporting video calls based on WebRTC, allowing users to communicate via video without the need for software downloads or plug-ins. However, due to its target audience being professionals in the technology industry, who are used to communicating via telephone conferences, Solaborate decided to also introduce audio-only calls. Solaborate improved audio calls by also enabling the ability of group audio conferences.

Video Calls
Solaborate also improved its one-on-one video calls by enabling group video calls all within the browser and free of plug-ins or software downloads. Group video calls have been implemented using WebRTC and are currently supported on Chrome and Firefox. The group video call option includes an instant messaging feature that allows members to communicate via text and share rich media.

File and Screen Sharing
Further improving its communication capabilities, Solaborate now supports sharing files within the chat, allowing members to communicate and share important files all in one place, facilitating real time collaboration. Additionally, users can now also share their screens with others on the same chat. This is also done using WebRTC so it eliminates the need for special proprietary software plug-ins. The ability to share one’s screen further enhances collaboration by giving users the ability to broadcast to others exactly what they see on their screens, thus enabling users to be more productive. It also enables technology companies to support and demonstrate their products or services better by creating a richer and more personalized customer experience.

Solaborate has fully embraced the use of WebRTC to provide real time communication and collaboration capabilities to its users. WebRTC is an ambitious project with the aim of making real time communication over the Web as easy as possible. Solaborate’s usage of WebRTC enables technology professionals and companies to engage and collaborate with each other like never before.
