UICC’s headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland and the appointment is effective immediately.
Online Circle was awarded the universal World Cancer Day project following a competitive pitch.
World Cancer Day, held annually on February 4th, is the international event to unite the world in the fight against cancer. As part of their work with UICC, Online Circle has created a worldwide Facebook application in order to raise awareness of World Cancer Day on a global level. The Facebook application dispels cancer myths and encourages shares. The application also gives businesses the opportunity to install the application on their Facebook fan page, and has been translated into Spanish and French.
“It’s extremely exciting and rewarding to be appointed as the official global digital agency for UICC’s World Cancer Day campaign, an inspiring organisation who is striving to enact international awareness and change for the better,” said Lucio Ribeiro, Lead Strategist at Online Circle.
Cary Adams, Chief Executive Officer of UICC remarked, “World Cancer Day is a chance to raise our collective voices in the name of improving general knowledge around cancer and dismissing misconceptions about the disease. It is our hope that social media and this innovative Facebook App that Online Circle has developed for the campaign will help reach a larger and more diverse audience.”
