Toby Keith puts an explanation point on the most talked about country music show (Nashville Unplugged) and Aaron Benward promises more surprises every Friday night.
The hottest show in Las Vegas just got hotter! As if a packed house every Friday night at Red Rock Hotel and Casino wasn't enough, this past Friday, February 1st, the show that has been on fire officially turned into a blaze inside Hard Rocks Lounge. Nashville Unplugged has been reviewed as being the only Las Vegas show that is different every time, and with Keith’s appearance, it makes sense.
Nashville Unplugged, the acoustic songwriter show critics have been calling “incredibly original” and “the best live show in Las Vegas“ had a surprise performance from country superstar, Toby Keith. Toby walked out from behind the backstage curtain about 30 minutes into the show and completely caught creators and hosts, Aaron Benward and Brian McComas off guard.
It was clear his arrival wasn't a “planned” surprise that producers of shows often do to create hype. Toby took McComas’s guitar, took a seat on his stool and proceeded to play 4 original songs that weren't any of his hits the fans may have known him for. You could tell from the stories behind his songs (Visit http://www.christiegeorge.com for details) that they meant a lot to him as a songwriter. Keith continually talked about his respect and admiration of the “unsung heroes” of the music business, the songwriters, by making sure the audience knew just what a “treat you guys in Vegas have with a show like this” and “the songwriters are the blood line of music”.
In a press conference after the show, Aaron McComas was asked what this meant to have Toby Keith show up, McComas responded by saying, “it was incredible to have one of the top acts in country music take time out of his personal life to come by and hang with us. He didn’t have to do it but he did and that shows just what kind of heart he’s got and also what kind of authentic love of music and songwriting that he has. You never know what you’re going to get at a Nashville Unplugged show man. Even though we play every Friday, no show is ever the same. When we have artists like Toby Keith start showing when they’re in town just to chill, then that means people in the industry are talking about our show and that’s a good recipe for more and more surprises.”
Nashville Unplugged plays every Friday night in Rocks Lounge at Red Rock Hotel and Casino at 8:00 pm. Doors open at 7:15 pm and tickets are $5 at the door.
