Dec. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- American Bolero Dance Company’s Spanish Dance School is offering 10-week Winter 2013 courses in Flamenco and Spanish Dance for adults and children (ages 4 and up) starting January 7 until March 23.  Classes are held in Long Island on Mondays at St. Paul’s Ministry Center in Great Neck, and in Queens on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at Sol Dance Center in Astoria.

The Spanish Dance School is the educational branch of American Bolero Dance Company.  It was established in 2002 as part of the ABDC’s mission to preserve and present Spanish dance and music in its various forms.  Gabriela Granados, Artistic Director and Founder of both the company and school, is the primary choreographer and head of the dance faculty.  Instructors are trained in Ms. Granados’ dance method, a unique educational approach that follows a comprehensive age-based syllabus, combining elements of Flamenco, Ballet, Classical, Regional Folk and Character Dance.  Castanet playing is also part of students’ regular instruction.

Performing opportunities are available to serious and dedicated students.  Private and semi-private instruction can be arranged upon request.

As a dance educator, Gabriela Granados has served on the faculty of the Neubert Ballet Institute for over a decade. She has been an artist-in-residence at LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and the Performing Arts, on the faculty of Broadway Dance Center, a freelance teacher at Fazil’s Times Circle Rehearsal Studios, and a guest teacher and lecturer for the Dance Departments of New York University and Barnard College.
