Since its premiere in November 2008, Tablao Flamenco has established itself as one of New York City’s steady cultural fixtures, and garnered recognition and praise from both audience members and the media. The series has been hailed a “dazzling spectacle”, “incredibly intense”, and “artfully performed”, and its world-class dancers, singers and musicians described as “impressive”
The March 15th season opener will certainly be no exception to such acclaim. GABRIELA GRANADOS, American Bolero Dance Company’s Artistic Director/Founder and creator of the Tablao Flamenco series, heads a phenomenal cast that includes dancers ROSA OLYMPIA ESTRELLA, XIANIX BARRERA and ERIKA de JULIA, singers ALFONSO CID and AURORA REYES, guitarists RAPHAEL BRUNN and JED MILEY, and the BALLET ESPAÑOL DE GABRIELA GRANADOS.
All “Tablao Flamenco” 2013 performances are supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council. This series is also made possible (in part) by the Queens Council on the Arts, with public funding from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, and with support from The JP Morgan Chase Foundation.
