Oct. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Adding an extra boost of excitement for Women At Woodstock, the first-ever retreat by and for women 50 (or so) and up, renowned authors Abigail Thomas (Three Dog Life, Safekeeping) and Laurie Stone (Laughing in the Dark, Close to the Bone. Starting with Serge) will appear for a private reading from the book In the Fullness of Time at the end of the first full day of workshops October 8 at the Emerson Resort & Spa in Woodstock, NY. They will be joined by co-editors of the book Linda Gravenson and Emily W. Upham. The reading is an exclusive for women attending the Women At Woodstock retreat.

In addition, a new sponsor has joined in the support for Women At Woodstock: Vettana, a software quality assurance company founded by CEO and boomer Jennifer Flaa. Author of the just-released book, The Happiness Handbook, Flaa was recently named to the "Extraordinary Life" section of The Glass Hammer for her versatile accomplishments. She's started a second company, teaches at the Silicon Valley Small Business Development Center, and sings in a rock band, Urban Fiction. Says Women At Woodstock organizer Ann Voorhees Baker, "Jennifer Flaa is the absolute poster girl for everything we stand for at Women At Woodstock - freedom, reinvention, creativity, and doing what you desire to do with your life. I'm thrilled to align our event with her many activities and accomplishments in the months to come."

Women At Woodstock is a three-day retreat for women only, and includes a welcome party; a first-night performance of a one-woman show by actress Alice Barden; well-known women of the boomer generation such as Suzanne Braun Levine, the first editor of Ms. Magazine, and Amy Ferris, author of Dancing At the Shame Prom; multiple workshops on everything from finances to beauty to fitness to mastermind groups; and individual meetings with experts in a variety of disciplines. The all-inclusive event includes all meals, accommodations at the luxurious Emerson Resort & Spa, a luxe gift bag, and a 10% discount on spa services during the event. Day passes also are available.

About Women At Woodstock:
