Tropicana Sea Beach, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt - holiday illness outbreak

Stomach bug hits UK holidaymakers at popular sunshine destination. Concern regarding the Tropicana Sea Beach, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Call Pannone LLP if affected on 0800 0384 384

July 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Travel Law specialists at Pannone LLP have been contacted by a number of recently returning British holidaymakers who report an illness outbreak at the Tropicana Sea Beach hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.  Symptoms suffered are consistent with food poisoning and the holidaymakers are being tested for Salmonella.

Online reviews from returning guests also suggest a problem.  Guests who stayed in resort in June 2012 complain of 'pink chicken' and 'raw eggs'. One reviewer describes the swimming pools as 'not always very clean with rubbish floating in them'. Those that became ill were suffering with diarrhoea and sickness. One holidaymaker was so unwell they required hospital treatment. Concerns have been raised regarding hygiene in the hotel.

Travel Law specialist Clare Campbell from Pannone LLP says that guests affected may have a claim for compensation.

'This is not the first time that this particular hotel has come to our attention. We acted for a small group of holidaymakers taken ill in similar circumstances at the Tropicana Sea Beach around this time in 2010. We were able to secure compensation for those guests which totalled over £12,000.00. Anyone returning from this hotel that was or is suffering illness should contact their GP immediately to confirm exactly what the illness is. I would then suggest that they seek legal advice reagrding possible compensation. If they can prove that their sickness was caused by poor standards of food preparation / hygiene at the hotel then they may be able to pursue a claim against their Tour Operator. Keep all evidence of your illness, such as medication receipts and invoices. Ensure that the hotel and Tour Operator are aware that  you were unwell and make sure that they log this in writing.'

If you have fallen ill or been injured whilst on holiday in the UK or abroad then you could potentially claim for compensation. We can help, just simply contact us on 0800 0384 384 and a specialist travel personal injury lawyer can review your compensation claim for free. We are available to take your call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Alternatively we can be contacted by email at http://www.pannone.com/contact
