South Alabama Nonprofit and Community Disaster Preparedness Experts to Meet Tuesday

Disaster preparedness and impact on nonprofits discussed at Project Connect Consortium meeting in Mobile, AL

July 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Mobile.AL. Project Connect Consortium, an outreach initiative of Tri-Coastal Community Outreach, Inc. of Grand Bay, Alabama, will hold their July meeting on Tuesday, July 26 from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the International Trade Club, Killian Room (1st floor), 250 North Water Street, Mobile, Alabama.  

A panel of experts from Mobile County Emergency Management Agency, American Red Cross, Mobile Fair Housing, ACT II, Area Agency on Aging, Project Rebound, United States Coast Guard and other local agencies will discuss disaster preparedness and the role that individuals and agencies serve in communities during a critical incidence.  The meeting is free.

                                       Project Connect Consortium Meeting
                                                       July 26, 2011

Consortium Goal:   1) To strengthen the nonprofit community connection through embracing our organizational assets and our ability to adapt to change related to our communities, regardless of critical incident or crisis.

Consortium Meeting Objectives:  
1)   To embrace the nonprofit community by building personal relationships with each
other so that we may form collaborations and partnerships to serve our communities,  
                                                 wherever they may be or wherever support is needed.
2)   To discover how change impacts organizations during a crisis
3)   To provide real-time information related to critical incidents
4)   To provide knowledge and education about issues related to nonprofit management
     and leadership development, so that community leaders will be empowered to make
     positive  choices in guiding their entity into a sustainable future.
5)  To know that “we are not alone” in our journey to serve others
