“The Portland area is destined to become the world’s leading sustainable food capital” according to social futurist Mick Mortlock. Mortlock, spoke on June 3rd before the Strategic Planning Summit of Oregon State University’s North Willamette Research Center.
Mortlock outlined five significant food and agriculture high points the area will reach over the next quarter century:
• Food clubs will use Internet technology and become very popular.
• The Portland Area will become the new Food Capital of the World.
• Portland will become the center of urban farming.
• Five Portland Restaurants will appear in Michelin’s and Restaurant Magazine lists of World’s Top Restaurants.
• Michelle and Barack Obama will move to the Portland area after his presidency.
