“This month is bustin' out all over.”*
Now, there's a line to make a young girl blush. Did you know that more songs are written about June than any other month? Perhaps because it is regarded as the first month of summer in the northern hemisphere. Here in Mauritius, the opposite is true of course and June heralds the onset of cooler weather. Fortunately it remains nice and clement and along the coast it is downright balmy!
So, what do we have in store for you this month? Lifestyle features Dharna Hassija, a talented lady from India who has burst onto the Mauritian fashion scene and is quickly making a name for herself in women's clothing and jewellery. The Discovery section is all about the Mauritius Glass Gallery in Phoenix. If you have never been there I can thoroughly recommend it as an interesting way to spend your time and your money, or better still someone else's...!
The seasons come and go and the weather may be as changeable as an inebriated mother in law, but one thing which remains constant is the human appetite for food. To sate that need we offer a couple of mouth watering recipes this month on page XXX. Of course, if you are not one for cooking, there are many many fine restaurants in Mauritius so get out there and fill your belly!
