"Brings Jasmine tea on a painted tray, and bends to kiss frown away. But I'm still stuck in the August rain; stuck out in the cloudburst once again."
As I sit here in Curepipe, tea in hand and rain splashing down on the window pane, listening to “Hotel California” by the Eagles, I think back and ponder on the month just passed. It was a pleasant month, despite the weather and the fact that it has been cold enough to freeze the fur off a polar bear - global warming? More like ice age now! In my opinion.
The Lifestyle interview with Hazel Coldwell was very interesting. This ambitious Scottish lady is at home on sea or land and I hope you will all be keen to read about this young entrepreneur's adventures on page twelve.A trip to the north coast involved meeting the friendly people at Scuba-Doo, where I learned more about the skills of diving - without
getting wet - than I would have thought possible!Lionel Berthault from Le Chasseur Mauricien waxed elegantly about hunting and I came away from our meeting with a new found respect for the sport, though “sport” is perhaps not the right word to use - there is definitely more to hunting than simply the kill, or the thrill of the chase.
Yes indeed, it was quite a month and now “Hotel California” has finished playing and my tea is cold! Time to get my whip out and make sure everyone is working! Hmm, who was it that told me writing was easy?
