Oct. 14, 2008 - PRLog -- Attention: teachers, librarians, parents, grandparents . . . do you know a young writer you want encourage?

Here's a great new resource: The I Love To Write Book: Ideas & Tips for Young Writers, by Mary-Lane Kamberg.

Please pass on the news to your local teachers, librarians, and parents . . . and online to friends and bloggers interested in writing and encouraging young writers.

To read more about the contents, visit Crickhollow Books (http://www.CrickhollowBooks.com).

The 136-page book is a versatile “get-started” guide to launch young writers on a journey to writing success . . . at home and in the classroom.

The instructional and inspirational guide will help young writers (ages 8-14) become successful, confident, and self-motivated writers. It features practical tips, techniques, and exercises ideal for use at home and in the classroom.

This new book by independent publisher Crickhollow Books offers broad advice for young writers at all levels of ability. It includes many activities, worksheets, and examples for developing ideas, observing the world, writing different types of pieces (such as news articles, book reviews, thank-you letters, how-tos, and more), and best practices for writing poetry and fiction.

It also covers the basics of revising work and submitting pieces for publication in periodicals featuring the best work of young writers, such as Stone Soup, Magic Dragon, New Moon, and other excellent opportunities online and in print.

While ideal for classroom use, The I Love To Write Book focuses on writing for its own sake. It will help young writers boost their skills and enthusiasm for writing for personal satisfaction, community impact, and possible publication.

Author Mary-Lane Kamberg is director of a summer writing camp in Kansas for young writers. She has a journalism degree from the University of Kansas and has authored eleven books, including Bono: Fighting World Hunger and Poverty (Rosen Publishing, 2008) and The “I Don’t Know How To Cook” Book (Adams Media, 2004). She has also published hundreds of articles, short stories, and poems. She lives in Olathe, Kansas, near Kansas City.

The book is published in support of national "I Love To Write Day," celebrated each year in mid-November in tens of thousands of schools, libraries, and bookstores across the country. Billed as the “The World’s Biggest Party for Writers,” the grassroots event was founded by Delaware writer John Riddle, and this November 15 has officially been proclaimed as  “I Love To Write Day" by governors in nine states.
