This is the twentieth year for Chowderfest, the family fun festival that features live music, activities and unlimited Chowder tasting with the opportunity for each ticket holder to vote for their favorite red and white chowder. The event is nestled in Beach Haven surrounded by beautiful views of the bay and plenty of year end discounted shopping. It has become a tradition for family and friends to gather together to say good bye to summer and welcome in the fall. Even though Chowderfest comes just once a year, October 4 for the fabulous Merchant Mart where hundreds of vendors offer the best deals of the season and October 5 for the Chowder Cook Off, the fun can be taken on the road to sample each of the 2007 Chowderfest restaurant participants on their own turf.
Entrants eat (min $10 purchase) at each individual restaurant, get their official Chowder Challenge Entry form stamped at all locations, submit Chowder Challenge form by mail or in person to Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce 265 West 9th Street, Ship Bottom, NJ 08008. Participants that submit the completed form before September 13, 2008 will receive a free admission ticket to this year’s Chowderfest and a Chowder Challenge Tee Shirt, with a chance to win the Grand Prize drawing taking place during this year’s festival for four VIP tickets to the 2009 Chowerfest and $50 gift certificates from each 2007 participating restaurants.
