Drive Kids to be Fit, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating childhood obesity, has teamed up with iGive.com and buyforcharity.com to offer supporters the opportunity to donate while shopping on line. Max Mikhaiel, founder of Drive Kids to be Fit and CEO of Max Fitness Academy says, “This is an easy way for donors to give. Shopping is something a lot of people usually do during the holidays and now they can donate to a worthy cause at the same time.”
Drive Kids to be Fit was established to help overweight and obese children develop life-long healthy behavior. Among its successful programs is a free 15-week fitness and nutrition challenge which involves trainers and nutritionists working with children at area schools on a weekly basis. The next challenge, starting in January of 2008, will end with a fitness run to be held in the San Fernando Valley.
Drive Kids to be Fit is a community partner in the National Institute of Health’s We Can! Program, a nationwide initiative to reduce childhood obesity. For more information, visit http://www.drivekidstobefit.org.
