Follow on Google News | St. Louis Jewish Film Festival to Open with Distinctive Israeli Student Films Linked by Oct. 7, 2023By: St. Louis Jewish Film Festival In solidarity with Israel, and to specifically draw attention to the Israeli filmmakers coming out of Sapir College, the St. Louis Jewish Film Festival invites you to a special opening night celebration on Sunday, April 7 at 4pm at B&B Theater in Creve Coeur. We are honored to share that Opening Night for the St. Louis Jewish Film Festival will feature five students' films. Attached to each one is a one-of-a-kind story about the directors, actors, and other individuals who participated in the making of the film whose lives have been turned upside down in the days since October 7, 2023. With Israel fighting for its very existence, these films can be viewed from a new angle that highlights the very human fears and hopes of the Israeli people. Each film varies in genre, theme, and length as follows: Pepchook Writer/Director/ Animated Feature, 9 minutes English with subtitles Unwell Mind Writer/Director: Producer: Gal Dor Documentary, 38 minutes Hebrew with English Subtitles ElinorWriter/Director: Producer: Yasmin Hoffman Feature, 20 minutes Hebrew with English Subtitles Shelters Directors: Rachel Albert, Maciej Jankowski Producers: Rachel Albert, Nitzan Laytner Documentary, 15 minutes Hebrew with English Subtitles People Asleep and the Water as Well Writers: Rotem Elkayam, Maryem Bouzzit Director: Rotem Elkayam Producers: Jihane Tahiri, Gali Luzon Documentary, 19 minutes Various Languages with English Subtitles Join us at the B&B Theaters in Creve Coeur and witness the stories and the cinema making timely human connections to the Israeli community across the world.
