Daniel Hect to serve at Police Chief at the Village of Hartford

DAYTON, Ohio - Feb. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- Sabina OH – The Village of Sabina is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Hect as Sabina's new Chief of Police.  Chief Hect's service with Sabina will commence on Monday, February 15, 2021, following a formal pinning ceremony.

Chief Hect joins the City of Sabina with 40 years of service in law enforcement.  He began his career with the United States Air Force as a Law Enforcement Specialist on active duty and later as a USAF Reserve Security Forces member and retired from the Air Force in 2012. In 1988, Hect was hired by the University of Southern California Department of Public Safety and served as a Field Training Officer, and the training coordinator and retired in 2014. Daniel moved to Ohio to take the Police Chief position at Denison University and also served at Xavier University as their police chief. Daniel is coming to Sabina from the Village of Hartford, Ohio where he served as the Police Chief.

Chief Hect is a graduate of Argosy University with a Doctorate in Education, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Southern California. He has attended the FBI LEEDA Executive Leadership Course Class 103, and the Southern Police Institute Chief course. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.

Recruitment for the Chief of Police position resulted in highly qualified applicants. The leading candidates went through an extensive interview process and background investigations in which Daniel Hect prevailed as the top choice for Sabina.

Chief Hect and his partner Ana have a son and a daughter, Daniel also has three grown children from a previous marriage.  He enjoys the outdoors, camping on the Ohio River, and he's a USC Football fan.
