United Real Estate to Hold National Convention in Miami

MIAMI - Feb. 19, 2018 - PRLog -- United Real Estate is hosting their 2018 Education and Awards Convention in Miami February 22-24 bringing professionals from offices all across the US to experience all Miami has to offer.

United Real Estate is one of the fastest growing real estate companies in the United States. CEO Dan Duffy said they chose Miami because of its diverse and rich culture and the opportunity to give back to one of its foundation not-for-profit organizations.

Shake-a-Leg Miami (SALM) is a non-profit organization that works with children and adults with mental, physical and developmental opportunities. It uses water-based activities to serve as a healing and wellness tool, including to veterans, at no cost to its participants. The organization was hand-picked by the two URE offices in the Miami area who will be hosting this year's Convention. Elizabeth Diaz de Villegas, owner/broker of URE Miami, has been working with the organization for many years and said now is a perfect time to give back.

"Shake-a-Leg does a lot of creative things for the community and they were really hit hard by Hurricane Irma so it's really timely for us to be able to give back to them," said Diaz de Villegas.

SALM lost nearly everything in Hurricane Irma. Outings Coordinator Karis Starke said they had to deplete all of the funds they had in order to rebuild so they are starting from scratch. He said he is excited to meet with the United Real Estate team to see how they can work together to advance the mission of SALM. United Real Estate will also host a benefit fundraiser for the organization during its banquet on Feb. 22.

"Good things come from word of mouth so for United to bring 500+ people in to this kind of event is going to be great publicity for us," said Starke. "Our goal is to spread our information and end up being an international hub. The monetary support is great but hopefully with United's international reach we can inspire others to start an organization like Shake-a-Leg somewhere else."
