Barnes & Noble Mira Mesa will host a Bookfair to benefit San Diego Firefighters

SAN DIEGO - Aug. 1, 2016 - PRLog -- BARNES & NOBLE MIRA MESA WILL HOST A BOOKFAIR TO BENEFIT SAN DIEGO FIREFIGHTERS

SAN DIEGO, CA– August 1, 2016 – Support San Diego FirefighterAid at Barnes & Noble in Mira Mesa, CA.  in an effort to raise funds for the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb held this year on September 10^th at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront.

"Emergency Responders made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their sworn duty to protect life on September 11^th 2001. Such sacrifices continue today. For the 5^th year in a row 9/11 climbers will gather at the Hilton Bayfront to climb 110 flights of stairs to raise awareness of sacrifices made by firefighters everywhere every day. Each year, approximately 100 firefighters die while serving their communities. We will climb in the spirit of remembrance of the courage and honor displayed by those 403 fallen Emergency Responders. We climb for the firefighters who continue to assume these risks and for the families who share them."

All day on Saturday, August 13^th, August 20^th, and August 27th Barnes & Noble Mira Mesa will contribute a percentage of every sale made with a special Bookfair voucher to San Diego FirefighterAid. Vouchers will be available online www.facebook.com/BNmiramesaCA or by visiting the store. You can also support San Diego FirefighterAid by shopping online from August 8th through August 31st and include the Bookfair voucher ID on the payment page during checkout.

Funds raised will benefit FirefighterAid (Formerly the San Diego firefighters' Benevolent Fund), the charity that cares for firefighters and families through sickness, distress, and death. San Diego FirefighterAid is working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers by hosting a Bookfair at the Mira Mesa store location. San Diego 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb teams including: Escondido Fire Department, Carl's Climbers, Team Vasquez, and Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department teams will be at the Mira Mesa location raising funds for their team and FirefighterAid.

The Barnes & Noble Mira Mesa Bookfair will help San Diego FirefighterAid by donating a percentage of Bookfair sales which will underwrite their 911 Stair Climb teams. San Diego firefighters' will join us for events and programs that will be held at Barnes & Noble on Saturday, August 13^th,August 20^th, and August 27^th, starting at 11AM. These events include a special storytime at 11AM, and other events throughout the day including, special guest appearances, trying on firefighter gear, activities and crafts, cupcake decorating, and more!
